The moment Peter Forsberg stepped onto an NHL ice rink, he was an impact player on both ends of the ice. It was clear based on his experience with Modo Hockey, his physical nature, and his intense desire to make himself and his team the best they could possibly be that he would make an indelible mark on the Nordiques/Avalanche organization. He did exactly that, winning the Calder Memorial Trophy in the organization’s final season in Quebec and helping lead the way to a pair of Stanley Cup championships following the move to Denver. Besides a two-game stint in 2010-11, Foppa never posted a negative plus-minus in his 13-year Hall of Fame NHL career. His plus-238 mark ranks 43rd on the all-time list.
