It’s amazing to reflect on the history of Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 4 sneakers. These iconic shoes were designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield and made their debut on All-Star weekend in February 1989. At the time, only four original colorways were available, but over the years, this silhouette has been released in different colorways. The OG “Fire Red” colorway has been retroed for the third time in 2020, adding another classic option to the collection.
The Air Jordan 4 holds a special place in NBA history due to Michael Jordan’s incredible performance in the 1989 playoffs. On May 7th of that year, Jordan made an unforgettable play in the Chicago Bulls’ first-round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers. With just three seconds left on the clock and his team down by one, MJ sunk a foul-line jumper that became known as “The Shot.” This incredible moment propelled the Bulls into the second round of the playoffs.
This pair is autographed and limited to 23 and comes in the original box. Jordan has autographed these limited edition (23) Nike Air Jordan 4 Fire Red Retro shoes in black paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
