Perhaps no player better personified the flair of the ABA combined with the tradition and excellence of the NBA than Julius Erving. When the two leagues merged in 1976, many people wondered if any of the ABA players who would their ability to dominate in the new merged league. It didn’t Dr. J long to show he was a superstar in any league. He became an instant sensation in the NBA with his dramatic finishes, ability to take over a game and relentless work ethic to make himself and his team into a champion. He accomplished that in 1983 when the Sixers captured the NBA Finals championship. One of Dr. J’s classic sideways dunks is captured in this image printed on acrylic. It’s part of Upper Deck Authenticated’s latest offering of “The Show.” This one, entitled “The Doctor,” features the dynamic image over a layer of the largest known signature of Dr. J on a large piece of archival paper. It comes framed and measures 46” x 20” overall for a museum-quality piece that will be the highlight of any memorabilia collection. Erving’s huge autograph is signed using a thick black marker. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
