While some forwards are pure scorers, Peter Forsberg was as complete a center as anyone who has ever skated. A two-way skater in every sense of the description, he dotted the assists column more so than the goal column throughout his career, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t know how to find the “Back of the Net”. When it mattered most in the postseason, Forsberg could score with anyone. He ranks 22nd in NHL history in playoff goals with 64. He scored 10 goals in the playoffs as the Avalanche captured the Stanley Cup in 1996 in the organization’s first season in Colorado. Five years later, he led the Avalanche to another Stanley Cup title as he scored four goals in 11 games. Here, Forsberg makes a move to his left, freezes Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo and finds the back of the net to light the lamp. The puck can be seen just about to hit the net and begin its descent to the ice to the disappointment of the home Vancouver crowd. Forsberg has signed this limited edition (50) Back of the Net 16” x 20” image in black paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five Step Process.
