When cherished Bulls employee Sheri Berto went in for surgery in November 1991, complications arose and she died at the hospital. She left behind a husband and 3-year-old daughter as well as a devastated organization that was left with a tremendous hole. To honor the memory of the woman who many players considered a mentor and friend, the Bulls decided to wear black shoulder bands the rest of the season. They also later opened the Berto Center, which became their training center in Deerfield, Ill. Always looking to place an original mark on the history of basketball’s most iconic items, UDA had Jordan physically write out the inscription “In Memory of Sheri Berto” and then got that inscription embroidered directly onto this home jersey. Jordan has autographed the front of this limited edition (123) embroidered Chicago Bulls 1991-92 white authentic Mitchell & Ness jersey in black paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
