The superstar guard was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas, and grew into one of the country’s top high school basketball prospects. For his senior season, he transferred to North Little Rock High School and led the team to an impressive 27-3 record. Nick Smith Jr. knew it was time to shine when the calendar hit March during his freshman year at Arkansas. After battling various injuries throughout the year, Smith Jr. was sure to take the court during the highly anticipated March Madness. The Razorbacks entered the tournament as the number eight seed. After making the Elite-8 in back to back years they were looking to string together another successful tournament run. In the Sweet-16, Arkansas found themselves squaring off against the tournament winners, UConn. Smith Jr. emptied the tank scoring 11 points along with two rebounds. His efforts were not enough as the Razorbacks fell to the Huskies 88-65. Smith Jr.’s time with Arkansas was short but he made the most of it as he gained the attention of many NBA teams.

Nick Smith Jr. was one of the top recruits of his class coming out of high school. While he battled through injury in his time with the University of Arkansas, he still showed everyone why he deserved to play at the next level. His best performance at the college level came against the University of Georgia. Smith Jr. scored 26 points while shooting 9-14 from the floor. He was able to knock down a career high five three-pointers along with a rebound and two assists. His outstanding performance led the Razorbacks to a 97-65 victory over the Bulldogs. Smith Jr. will look to take his skillset to the next level of the NBA.
