After a college career with the USC Trojans that included two AP National Championships and a Heisman Trophy win, Reggie Bush came into the NFL a hot commodity. The New Orleans Saints drafted the star USC Trojans running back second overall in the 2006 NFL Draft. Bush recorded 141 total yards in his professional debut, helping set the tone to help lead the upstart Saints to their first playoff appearance in six seasons and their first ever NFC Championship Game appearance. A great all-around player, Bush displayed his punt returning prowess in 2008 with 270 yards and three touchdowns which included a two-punt return touchdown game and a long return of 71 yards. He received the honor of being named the AP All-Pro First Team punt returner. The Saints reached new levels in 2009, starting the season 13-0 and going on to secure the number one seed in the NFC. Bush had a 46-yard rushing touchdown, and an 83-yard punt return touchdown in the Divisional Round and a receiving touchdown in the NFC Championship to help lead New Orleans to Super Bowl XLIV, where they would win the first championship in franchise history. After New Orleans, Bush recorded 1,000-yard rushing seasons with both the Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions, before finishing out his career with the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills.

Behind Bush’s 63 total yards from scrimmage, the Saints went on to win their first Super Bowl in team history. Bush’s contributions to his first team earned him a spot in the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame in 2019.
